FICTION & POETRY
IN DEVELOPMENT
Dea has some other creative projects brewing, including a comic diary about learning Japanese. These will be posted to this profile once there's more to them than promises. They're also vaguely trying out streaming, which they'll post a link to if it becomes a Thing.
ABOUT
Dea Emme (they/them) is a once and future editor, a writer, a reader and a terrible gamer. They write flash and microfiction that is sometimes creepy, sometimes bleak and always a bit surreal. Occasionally, they write poetry. An omnivorous media consumer, they blog monthly responses about speculative and literary fiction, comics, manga and etc.
In their past lives, Dea worked in a drab editorial department cubicle at the offices of a fringe new age publisher, behind the seafood counter at a grocery store, in front of a blackboard covered in question marks and Shakespeare quotes and behind flimsy privacy curtains in a rural emergency room. They've built a few client websites in their time including, notably, an X-Men-themed site about the science behind black holes while living in a dorm and listening to an unhealthy amount of KMFDM as a teenager. They've seen things.
They are based somewhere within a chilly, unseasonal fog and can be summoned by making offerings of pierogi or by playing alternative cello music at high volume.
